What We Do

The Durham County Department of Public Health works to support the health and wellbeing of organizations across Durham County. Working at the organizational level helps to reach more people in different community sectors. Schools, workplaces, faith communities and other organizations can work with the public health department to provide health information, programming and resources.

Health Fairs

The Durham County Department of Public Health welcomes the opportunity to be a part of health and resource fairs around Durham County.

Health Ministry Network

A collaborative effort between the Durham County Department of Public Health and faith-based organizations to promote health, prevent disease and provide services for vulnerable populations.

Mental Health First Aid

The MHFA teaches people to recognize signs of mental health, provide initial help, understand mental health impact, build mental health literacy, and decrease stigmatizing attitudes.

Trauma-Informed Organization Training

Trauma-informed care recognizes that trauma impacts our daily lives and our health and wellbeing.
