What We Do
What is the Durham County Health Ministry Network?
A collaborative effort between the Durham County Department of Public Health and faith-based organizations to promote health, prevent disease and provide services for vulnerable populations.
The “Network” was established to encourage, support, develop and connect faith-based health ministries in Durham. The health department staff work with faith organizations to help integrate faith and health.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the second Mondays of September, November, January, March and May from 6:00pm-7:30pm. At this time, meetings are held virtually.

Tools & Publications
The Durham County Department of Public Health has developed a number of tools and publications as resources for faith-based organizations.

Monthly Observance idea generator
Assessments & Surveys
Work with Health Promotion staff to learn the health needs and interests of organization members. This involves a conversation, review of assessment tools and scheduling to use the tools provided. Results are reviewed and a report generated with recommendations and resources provided.

Trainings and Education
Several trainings are offered for faith-based organizations. Trainings are periodically offered virtually and, in the community, but can be held on-site of faith organizations upon request. Below are some of the trainings offered:
