Public Health General Inspections Overview
The General Inspections section is responsible for plan review, permits and /or inspections of facilities regulated in State rules.
Food services inspections include:
- Restaurants
- Caterers
- Commissaries
- Food stands
- School lunchrooms
- Mobile food vendors
- Hot dog vendors
- Meat markets
- Special events selling food to the public
Other establishments under regulation include:
- Childcare centers
- Hospitals
- Rest/nursing homes
- Schools
- Local confinement facilities
- Residential care homes
- Hotels and motels
- Bed and breakfast homes/inns
- Tattoo artists
Environmental Health investigates for lead hazards at the residences of children under the age of six who have been identified with an elevated blood lead level.
Food borne illness investigations and general complaint investigations are conducted for regulated establishments.
