For Adults & Older Adults
As we age, adults are at higher risk for chronic health issues, and falls become a leading cause of injury. By 2060, almost a quarter of the U.S. population will be age 65 or older (Healthy People 2030). The Durham County Department of Public Health provides specific programming to support the health and wellbeing of adults in our community and older adults especially.
Many of the programs offered to adults and older adults help them increase knowledge about specific conditions and increase related skills. Knowledge about a disease helps individuals understand more about how susceptible they are to health issues, how serious different conditions are, and the overall threat of the disease. Knowledge is not enough to change attitudes most of the time, but it helps a great deal by influencing key attitudes and decisions adults and older adults make.

Single presentations are available to be conducted virtually or in-person on topics impacting adults and older adults. These presentations are ideal for faith-based and community organizations, including senior groups, and they can be customized for your audience.
