About Bull City Strong

Bull City Strong (BCS) is a community-based partnership to improve health literacy, particularly among historically marginalized populations in Durham County. The project grew out of an Office of Minority Health grant to enhance the community's response to COVID-19.

Community Health Workers

Bull City Strong aims to support Community Health Workers to promote changes in the health care delivery system that improve health information, communication, informed decision making, and access to health services.

Are you interested in improving Durham's health?

If you like working in the community, consider becoming a Bull City Strong Community Health Promoter! Merge your interest in working with the community and improving health in Durham. Training sessions are presented in English and Spanish.

Community Health Worker Roundtable

The Community Health Worker Roundtable is a collaborative effort between the Partnership for a Healthy Durham and the Bull City Strong [link to Bull City Strong page] program. The goal of the Roundtable is to build a space for community health workers (CHWs) and their allies to expand efforts to serve the community. The meeting provides multi-lingual conversation, with interpretation available in English and Spanish.

The Community Health Worker Roundtable meets the first Wednesday of every month from 10 – 11 am.  Learn more about the Community Health Worker Roundtable:
