Food & Nutrition Services

The Food and Nutrition Services Program is a federal program designed to provide nutrition benefits to low-income households to supplement their food budget so they can afford the nutritious food essentials for health and well-being while on the path to self-sufficiency.

You do not need to know whether you are eligible to apply or recertify for Food and Nutrition Services.  Allow DCoDSS to review your application or recertification and make a determination of your household’s eligibility or re-eligibility.

1.  Apply immediately through EPASS using the following button:

2. Fax a completed application to 919-560-8501.
3. DCoDSS office is temporarily accepting applications via the telephone. To complete a telephone application, contact DCoDSS office at 919-560-8000.
4. Apply in person or pick up a paper application at:

Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m.- 5:30 p.m.
Paper applications can be dropped off at the agency drop boxes. Drop boxes are located both inside and outside of the building. 
 

1. Recertify immediately through EPASS using the following button:

2. Fax a completed recertification to (919) 560-8501
3. Your local DSS office is temporarily accepting recertifications via the telephone. To complete a telephone recertification, contact DCoDSS office at (919) 560-8000.
4. Recertify in person or pick up a recertification at:
