Durham County Department of Social Services Internships Mission: The mission of the Internship Program at Durham County Department of Social Services (DSS) is to provide aspiring social workers with hands-on, professional experience in public social services. The program is designed to develop future social workers by fostering their skills, knowledge, and ethical practice in serving individuals, families, and communities. This internship program aims to cultivate compassionate, skilled, and knowledgeable professionals dedicated to promoting social justice, empowering clients, and improving overall community well-being.

Eligibility: Students enrolled in a human service undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited, four-year institution or community organization that has a requirement to fulfill and gain work experience. (NO CLINICAL HOURS ARE OFFERED)

Compensation: No compensation currently provided Length of Internship: Fall, Spring, and Summer Semester Placements, full or part time when available. Note: This is a continuous posting; however, placement in the program is subject to availability. There may not always be open availability at the time of application. Qualified applicants will be considered as opportunities arise and will be notified via the email provided on the application.
