Launching Emerging Employees Program (LEEP)
The mission of the LEEP program is to develop and strengthen the lives of young people through job opportunities and career development programs. The opportunities offered are work in entry level positions and soft skills training. Weekly trainings are provided and are focused on developing soft skills. Opportunities are located in multiple Durham County Government Departments.
Program Information
Eligibility: Applicants must be age 15-19 and one of the following:
- Resident of Durham County
- Enrolled in Durham Public Schools
- Child of a Durham County Government employee
Compensation
$15 per hour
Length of Internship Program:
6-8 weeks, June to August
Application Window:
April 2 - April 9

The mission of the LEEP II program is to develop and strengthen the lives of young people through job opportunities and career development programs. Internships are located in multiple Durham County Government Departments.
Program Information
Eligibility: Durham Residents who are high school graduates and are enrolled at Durham Tech Community College or have completed an Associate’s degree program, Ages 19-26
