Resource Conservation Workshop
General Information
The Resource Conservation Workshop (RCW) is a weeklong camp for NC students who are interested in conservation. Through field studies, tours, and hands-on sessions, students are introduced to a range of conservation topics and career fields. Students are housed at NC State University campus dormitories under the guidance of live-in counselors. High scores on a final exam give students an opportunity to win college scholarship and cash prizes.
The Durham Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors are committed to sponsoring at least one Durham County student a year. The Durham SWCD will pay all registration fees. The student will be responsible for transportation to and from NC State University. Housing and meals will be provided in conjunction with the workshop.
The RCW is sponsored by the Division of Soil and Water Conservation and the NC Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
