Join the largest litter clean up of the year!
Big Sweep is an annual cleanup event held each fall targeting trash in our waterways and watersheds. Schools, clubs, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to participate to clean up their campus, neighborhoods, and beyond to help the environment. Join a cleanup event or host your own. Durham County Creek Week
Creek Week is an annual event held each spring that encourages residents to learn about, connect to, and protect their local waterways. Schools, clubs, organizations, and individuals are encouraged to participate through educational programs and recreational activities.

Classroom Lessons
Bring Big Sweep and Creek Week to the classroom!
Durham Soil and Water provides free litter, waste management, and water themed lessons to all grade levels. These lessons can be paired with a clean up of school grounds. Supplies will be provided courtesy of Keep Durham Beautiful.
