Durham Granville Orange. EBERP. Energy Burden and Emissions Reduction Program. A neighborhood approach to home energy savings.

Welcome to EBERP! EBERP stands for the “Energy Burden and Emissions Reduction Program.” EBERP is a collaboration between Durham, Granville, and Orange Counties funded by a $1.5 million dollar grant awarded by the Department of Energy, running from 2024 through 2027.   This program is thoughtfully designed to help community members in neighborhoods across all 3 counties by providing energy efficiency services and energy education. Learn more below!

EBERP helps: Lower energy bills, improve safety and comfort, empower people with information and resources. EBERP provides: 1. Energy-saving upgrades for your home. 2. Small home repairs for comfort & safety. 3. Do-It-Yourself workshops & energy education. 4. Opportunities for neighborhood leadership. 5. Trained & trusted contractors to do the work.

Who can apply for EBERP? Residents who: Live in an EBERP-selected neighborhood. Live in a single-family, duplex, or mobile home. Own or rent (renters get permission from property owner). Services are at no cost if you qualify based on income. A special fixed-rate loan is available if you're over the income limit.
