About Specialty Courts

Specialty Courts, also known as Problem-Solving Courts or Treatment Courts, operate under a specialized model to provide court-directed supervision and mandated treatment to nonviolent individuals with substance use or mental health issues underlying their criminal behavior. A muti disciplinary team of a judge, District Attorney, Defense Attorney, Probation, and behavioral health providers, develop and monitor a person centered plan of treatment and accountability so participants can take control of their lives to eliminate substance use and sustain a crime-free lifestyle.
