Welcome to Durham County Memorial StadiumStadium Sunset West

Originally built in 1958 and undergoing significant renovations in 2010 which included the construction of the Tommy Hunt Press Box, Expanded Concourses and updates to the team spaces; the 8,500 seat Durham County Memorial Stadium has a tradition of hosting dynamic events for Durham and the surrounding community.  Durham County Memorial Stadium is the home of Northern High School Football, the 2021 AUDL Champion Carolina Flyers and USL-2's Tobacco Road FC.  We are also proud to be selected as the host venue for the 2022 NAIA Football National Championship Game and Senior Football Classic which will be held in December 2022.

The Stadium's Willie Bradshaw Field has been the site of many events, competitions and memories for participants and fans of sports and entertainment in Durham, hosting events such as the NAIA Football National Championship, CIAA Conference Football Championship, International All Star Soccer Matches, King of Spring Lacrosse and much more.  Willie Bradshaw Field, underwent refurbishment in 2022 and the updated playing surface is Astroturf's RootZone 3D3 blend with a Brock Shock Pad and BrockFill infill.

In 2019, Durham County Memorial Stadium made considerable improvements to the track facilities at the stadium.  Track and Javelin Runway has been resurfaced with a Beynon BS2000RE encapsulated surface and a combination Hammer-Discus cage was installed.  The stadium has been the host to events put on by local, regional and national organizations including USATF - National and North Carolina Associations, BodyArmor State Games, North Carolina Senior Games and other local and regional track club events.

Durham County Memorial Stadium is also equipped to host special events including concerts, fairs, walks and other events that have an impact on Durham and the greater community.  We look forward to your visit as a participant, spectator or event promoter.
