Litter Control, Investigation, And Enforcement

The Solid Waste Division is responsible for enforcing the Durham County Solid Waste Ordinance and Article IV of the Durham County Traffic and Vehicles Ordinance (Abandoned and Junked Motor Vehicles). These ordinances address concerns of public health nuisances and illegally dumped waste in the unincorporated areas of Durham County (outside of City limits). These ordinances protect the health, safety, and welfare of those individuals living, working, and doing business in the County of Durham.
