Redwood Convenience Site Renovation 

Durham County is undertaking the final planning phase to renovate the Redwood Convenience Site. The renovation will occur at the existing location, and will provide a larger, safer, and better-equipped facility that will meet the growing needs of residents in the southern part of the County.

Durham County has been awarded $3.3 million through the SWIFR Grant (Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling) by the US EPA for the completion of this project.

A Community Open House Meeting was held on January 17, 2024 at the East Regional Library (211 Lick Creek Lane) to share information with local residents and receive feedback.

Construction is anticipated to begin in mid-late 2025.
