Redwood Convenience Site Renovation 

Durham County is undertaking the construction phase to renovate the Redwood Convenience Site. The renovation will occur at the existing location, and will provide a larger, safer, and better-equipped facility that will meet the growing needs of residents in the southern part of the County. 

Beginning April 1, 2026, the Redwood Site will close for the renovation.

Residents are encouraged to visit the Northern Durham Convenience Site located at 11894 N. Roxboro Rd or the Parkwood Conveneince Site at 5928 Highway 55. Both sites will operate from Monday - Friday 7am-6pm and Saturday 7am-12 noon. Residents are reminded that the County does provide biweekly curbside recycling through GFL.

Residents who would like to start recycling can request a roll cart by calling 919-560-0433.

Durham County has been awarded $3.3 million through the SWIFR Grant (Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling) by the US EPA for the completion of this project.
