Youth Referrals

If you know of a youth aged 10-17 with social, emotional or behavioral challenges, they can come in with parent or guardian for screening. Anyone can refer youth to us from families, schools, churches, community neighbors, other programs, law enforcement and more.

 

Examples of Appropriate Referrals

Academic

A youth is falling behind in school and needs a tutor or an academic program that can help them succeed. A youth can be having issues with truancy which makes them fall behind in school.

Behavioral Health

A youth is talking back or not listening at home and/or at school. Youth is fighting with siblings and being defiant. The youth is running away.

Cultural/Religious

A youth is seeking connection to specific community or cultural identity.

Family Resources

A family needs connecting to housing services/programs. The family is struggling with food insecurity. A parent needs to be connected to further resources.

Life Skills and Pro-Social

A youth needs assistance relating to other peers and adults. A youth needs some boost in their self-esteem. A youth needs practical skills as they are transitioning into different parts of their adolescence.

Mental Health

A youth is exhibiting symptoms of anxiety, depression, and hyperactive or unusual behaviors.

Recreation/Hobbies/Sports

A youth needs something to occupy their time or exploring new interests (the arts, acting, dance, etc.)

Substance Abuse

A youth appears to have a problem with substance use and needs to be connected to treatment programs.

Workforce Development

An older youth needs to be connected to programs that can assists them in finding a job or preparing for the workforce.
