In Touch with Durham County Show
The “In Touch with Durham County Show” provides governmental programming and access to your local government through regular coverage of Durham County Government. Durham County Communications Chief Deborah Craig-Ray hosts the show, which welcomes Durham County department heads and staff, elected officials, and other representatives from community partner agencies to share and discuss relevant, timely information for Durham County residents.
The “In Touch with Durham County” show is a regular program that provides governmental programming and access to your local government and provides timely, ongoing coverage of Durham County Government. The show airs on the Durham Television Network (DTN).
DTN is the official government access channel for both the City of Durham and Durham County. It is available on Spectrum (channel 8 and 1302), Frontier Communications (Channel 70), and AT&T U-verse (Channel 99). Residents may also download the BoxCast app, available for Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV and search for “City of Durham” to find content available on demand.

Past Episodes of “In Touch”
The April 2025 episode features County Manager Claudia Hager and Commissioner Michelle Burton. Hager returns to the show, but for the first time as County Manager. She talks about her new role in the organization. Burton, a first-time Commissioner, chats about how she came to local government.

In December 2024, we welcome Tax Administrator Keyar Doyle to talk about how Durham County is reappraising real property – something required by North Carolina law for all 100 counties at least once every eight years. This is the first in Durham County since 2019.
The October 2024 edition sees us welcome Durham County Elections Director Derek Bowens to talk about the 2024 General Election, including local and federal elections.
On the June 2024 episode, Register of Deeds Sharon Davis joins us to discuss her office's duties, as well as chat about the Hacking into History project, which was facilitated by Assistant Register of Deeds James Tabron.
On the May 2024 episode, we welcome Durham County Sheriff Clarence F. Birkhead to discuss several new initiatives, gun safety, and how his Office is addressing crime and violence in our community. In segment two, Executive Director of Senior PharmAssist Gina Upchurch who explains how new federal law changes can help our seniors manage the costs of certain prescriptions and more.

Board of County Commissioner Meetings
The Durham Board of County Commissioners’ Regular Sessions are aired live on Durham Television Network, on our website, and on YouTube at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays, unless otherwise scheduled, on Durham County Television. The meetings are rebroadcast at different times during the month.
