Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee

What We Do
The primary function of the Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee is to maintain the rights of residents living in adult care homes including assisted living facilities and family care homes. They serve as the link between the community and the homes, seeking to increase community involvement and, at the same time, promoting community education and awareness of the needs of residents in these homes.
The committee members are local citizens who are appointed by the Durham County Board of Commissioners as volunteer grassroots advocates for the residents. They receive training and technical assistance from the Region J Ombudsman.
