Commissioner meetings
The public is welcome to attend Board meetings. Residents may attend meetings in person, via Zoom, or watch live online and on DTN. There is no sign-up sheet or request form to attend meetings, however, it is important to note that there are limited seating options.
A low-capacity overflow seating area is provided in the lobby on the second floor of the Administration Building. Individuals seated in the lobby can view the meeting on screens.
While social distancing will be established with seat arrangements, in-person attendees are reminded of the benefits of masking while in indoor spaces populated by others. Residents who wish to observe meetings are encouraged to continue using the virtual option and watch live on the County’s website.
The Durham Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) will hold a Regular Session at:
7:00 p.m.
Monday, July 28, 2025.
Meetings are held inside the Commissioners’ Chambers, located on the second floor of the Administration I Building at 200 E. Main St.

Joining Meetings Virtually
The information for joining the meeting virtually is as follows:

Residents may deliver comments on agenda items for the meeting in person or virtually.
In-Person Speaking Option
- Regular Sessions: All speakers must give their full name and address to give public comments and complete the Public Comments (Agenda Items only) form and submit it to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting to speak before the Board. Public Comment forms are also provided at the meeting. Rules for Public Comment on Agenda Items can be found here.
- Work Sessions: All speakers must give their full name and address to give citizen comments and complete the Citizen Comments form and submit it to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting to speak before the Board. Hybrid Speaking Option
- All speakers must submit their full name and address via email or telephone to the Clerk to the Board at clerk@dconc.gov or 919-560-0025. These submissions must be completed by 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 27th.
- All virtual participants will be muted upon entry to the meeting. If they are signed up to speak, they will be unmuted individually by the Clerk’s office when it is their turn to speak.

Access Meetings Live on Durham Television Network
The virtual option aligns with social distancing requirements which ensure the safety of citizens who wish to participate as well as Board members and Durham County Government staff. Citizens who wish to view the BOCC meeting can watch rebroadcasts on the Durham Television Network, which is available on AT&T U-verse channel 99, Spectrum channel 8, and Frontier Communications channel 70. The meeting will also be streamed live on the County’s website and on the County’s YouTube Channel.

- DCo Website has a New Look – Last week, the official Durham County Government website got an overhaul with the launch of our redesigned website! Be sure to head over to www.DCONC.gov and check it out! We will be looking for feedback from residents and stakeholders on what they like, and what we can improve, in the near future. You can also send your feedback now to publicinformationoffice@dconc.gov.
- Go Triangle to Offer New Service in Durham/Orange – GoTriangle is now offering updated bus service along Routes 400 and 405 in Durham and Orange counties. Buses will run every 15 minutes between Downtown Chapel Hill, Patterson Place, South Square, Duke and VA Medical Centers, and Downtown Durham on weekdays from 5:45 a.m. until 7 p.m., every 30 minutes on weekdays from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on weekends from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m., and every 60 minutes from 9 p.m. to midnight on weekdays, from 7 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays and 7 p.m. to 11p.m. on Sundays. These changes will provide more service and reduce wait times, improving connections to local transit and improving access among Chapel Hill, Durham and points in-between.
- Stop the Violence & Cease Fire Community Resource Event – The Durham County Sheriff’s Office is hosting its third annual Stop the Violence & Cease Fire Community Resource Event at the Durham County Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is part of the DCSO’s Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative. Everyone is invited to come out for a day of fun while learning about community resources. There will be back-to-school giveaways, complimentary food from local food trucks, and entertainment for all ages!
- Library Fest Logo Contest – Can you out-design Durham County Library staff? They are calling on all artists, hobbyists, and design daredevils to enter the Library Fest 2026 Logo Contest! This year’s theme is “The Stories That Built Us” – and your design could be the face of it all! Deadline to submit entries is August 15, 2025. - Durham County Tax Bill Estimator – Now that the 2025 General Reappraisal and both the City and County of Durham have passed their 2025-2026 budgets, residents may be wondering what their tax bill will be. - Apply for Ag Economic Development Grant Program – The Durham Soil and Water Conservation District’s Agricultural Economic Development Grant Program is accepting applications! Funded by the Durham Board of County Commissioners, the purpose of the AEDGP is to offer cost share grants to assist farmers and nonprofits in their agricultural endeavors and to promote Agriculture Development and Outdoor Environmental Learning Centers in schools.
