The Durham Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) will hold a Closed Session at:

Purpose:
- To consult with an attorney employed or retained by the public body in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the public body, to discuss the National Opioid Litigation which privilege is hereby acknowledged; pursuant to G. S. 143- 318.11(a)(3).

The public is welcome to attend Board meetings. Residents may attend meetings in person, via Zoom, or watch live online and on the Durham Television Network (DTN). There is no sign-up sheet or request form to attend meetings.
Residents who wish to observe meetings and are not able to attend in person, are encouraged to continue using the virtual option and watch live on the County’s website.

Joining Meetings Virtually

Residents may deliver comments on agenda items for the meeting in person or virtually.

In-Person Speaking Option
- Regular Sessions: All speakers must give their full name and address to give public comments and complete the Public Comments (Agenda Items only) form and submit it to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting to speak before the Board. Public Comment forms are also provided at the meeting. Rules for Public Comment on Agenda Items can be found here.
- Work Sessions: All speakers must give their full name and address to give citizen comments and complete the Citizen Comments form and submit it to the Clerk prior to the start of the meeting to speak before the Board. Citizen Comment forms are also provided at the meeting. Rules for Citizen Comments can be found here.

Hybrid Speaking Option
- All speakers must submit their full name and address via email or telephone to the Clerk to the Board at clerk@dconc.gov or 919-560-0025. These submissions must be completed by 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 12th.
- All virtual participants will be muted upon entry to the meeting. If they are signed up to speak, they will be unmuted individually by the Clerk’s office when it is their turn to speak.

Access Meetings Live on Durham Television Network
The virtual option aligns with social distancing requirements which ensure the safety of citizens who wish to participate as well as Board members and Durham County Government staff. Citizens who wish to view the BOCC meeting can watch rebroadcasts on the Durham Television Network, which is available on AT&T U-verse channel 99, Spectrum channel 8, and Frontier Communications channel 70. The meeting will also be streamed live on the County’s website and on the County’s YouTube Channel.

Sheriff's Office Collecting Donations for School Supply Drive- Durham County Sheriff's Office is collecting school supplies all of the month of July to support students of all ages returning to school for the 2026-2027 school year. School supplies of all kinds are being collected in the marked boxes on the 1st–3rd floor lobbies of the Sheriff’s Office located in the Durham County Courthouse at 510 S. Dillard Street. Donations will be distributed at the Back to School and Stop the Violence Community Resource Fair on August 1. For more information, contact Project Safe Neighborhoods Coordinator Tamika Gilmer at 919 560 7702. Donations are due July 24.

Solid Waste Convenience Sites to Close on Thursday, July 16 – All Durham County Solid Waste Convenience Sites will be closed to the public on Thursday, July 16, for a scheduled staff development day. During the closure, operations at all convenience sites will be suspended. The convenience site locations include Parkwood Convenience Site (5928 Highway 55) and Northern Convenience Site (11894 N. Roxboro Road). Both sites will reopen with normal operating hours at 7 a.m. on Friday, July 17.

County Launches New Digital Platform for Property Tax Payments- Durham County Government has launched PayDCoNC, a new digital platform that makes it easier for residents to manage and pay property taxes online. PayDCoNC is available now at pay.dconc.gov. PayDCoNC gives residents the flexibility to manage property taxes in a way that works for their schedule and budget.
