Durham County has made responsible AI adoption a priority, with nearly 95% of employees completing AI governance training. The County's AI innovations include AskDCo, a resident-facing virtual assistant that has supported more than 11,000 interactions, and AskAlex, an internal assistant that has facilitated more than 16,000 employee interactions. In addition, Durham County's AI-powered application builder has enabled the development of 23 business solutions, helping streamline operations and improve service delivery.
