Durham, NC - Rolling View swim area at the Falls Lake State Recreational Area is reopen to the public for regular operations after closure to the public on Tuesday, August 19 due to high levels of E. coli detected in the water. 

Results of testing by the Durham County Department of Public Health (DCoDPH) on Monday, August 18 indicated E. coli levels exceeding the limit of 235 colony-forming units (cfu) set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for recreational waters. Continued testing by DCoDPH on Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21 confirmed E. coli levels ranging from approximately 2 to 21 cfu, within safe levels set by the EPA.
