Important Reminders for Election Day, March 5th!

NEWS RELEASE

Durham, N.C. - The 2024 Statewide Primary and Election will occur on March 5, 2024! Below are some important reminders for Durham County voters!

In-Person Voting

Be sure to vote at your assigned polling place. To find your polling place, please click the following link: Election Day Polling Place Search (ncsbe.gov)

The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. All voters in line by 7:30 p.m. will be permitted to vote.

Photo identification is required to vote a traditional ballot. Voters that do not have photo identification when presenting to vote will be given alternative voting options. Voters that are registered as Unaffiliated will have the option to choose which party primary they would like to participate in. Party options will be provided by precinct officials.

Absentee By-Mail Voting

Absentee by-mail ballots must be received by our office no later than 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

The Board of Elections administrative office will be open from 8:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to receive absentee by-mail ballots.

Election Results

Absentee by-mail ballots will be counted at 2:00 p.m. and results will be released to the public at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Election Day results will begin posting at approximately 8:30 p.m. and will continue until all polling places have reported to the Board of Elections.
