Hattie Meadows Gardening School Announces Spring Class Series

Durham, N.C. – Durham County is excited to invite the community to join a new round of classes in the Hattie Meadows Gardening School at the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library. This free community learning series is a partnership between Durham Cooperative Extension, Durham County Library, and the Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Starting in April, residents can take part in monthly classes led by local teachers and gardening experts, covering a wide range of gardening topics.
Designed for both beginners and experienced gardeners, the series offers participants the chance to build skills and gain the confidence to help their gardens thrive. Classes will run from April through June at the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, located at 1201 Fayetteville Street. Session topics include soil health, seed starting, garden design, native plants, and vegetables. All classes are free, but registration is required.
“We're so excited to be back with a second round of gardening school for Durham County residents,” said Durham Extension Horticulturalist Ashley Troth. “This is another great selection of topics. We’re excited to offer somewhat more in-depth topics, while still having a little something for everyone.”
Registration is highly recommended for all sessions as space is limited. Classes are open for registration for the first five sessions. Click on the class titles below for more details on each class as well as registration information. Classes are posted on the Extension’s Eventbrite page here.
