GoDurham Microtransit Options Launch October 21

Riders can select shuttles to East & North Durham destinations
October 18, 2024

DURHAM, N.C. - On October 21, GoDurham launches a new Microtransit Program which will allow riders to take shuttles to and from East and North Durham destinations. This door-to-door, same-day ride service will provide more flexible, convenient transit options in the City's underserved areas.

The East Durham Zone includes locations such as The Wellons Village bus stop, US 70, parks, Southern High School and more.

The North Durham Zone covers areas such as West Point on the Eno, Hebron Road, parks, Riverside and Northern High Schools.

GoDurham ACCESS microtransit service will be available daily from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Unlike traditional fixed-route buses, microtransit shuttles and vans are smaller vehicles, which allow routes and schedules to better fit riders' needs. The microtransit program is an expanded use of GoDurham ACCESS vehicles.

"We are excited to launch this new, innovative service that brings greater flexibility and personalized travel options to Durham," said Sean Egan, Director of Transportation for the City of Durham. "We encourage everyone to take advantage of this convenient, fare-free service to experience easier travel and improved connections to key destinations across the City."

There are several ways to book a microtransit shuttle:
