Durham County Residents to Receive Tax Bills Soon

Durham, N.C. - The Durham County Tax Administration is preparing to mail annual property tax bills on August 16, 2024. Keyar Doyle, Director, Durham County Tax Administration, notes that taxpayers may also view their bill online: bit.ly/viewtaxbill. Citizens who own residential real property in the unincorporated areas of Durham will also find their 2024-2025 solid waste decal stickers included in the mailed bill.
Current year bills are due by September 1, 2024, and may be paid without penalty through January 6, 2025. To ensure timely posting, taxpayers are advised to consider paying bills upon receipt or forwarding to their escrow department for payment.
Doyle added, "We offer payment schedules that allow our residents to separate the total tax bill into a series of partial payments. All residential property tax bill mailings will include payment coupons enclosed that can be used to pay the tax bill."
Taxpayers are reminded that the Durham Board of County Commissioners approved a countywide tax rate of 79.87 cents per $100 of property value with their approval of the 2024-2025 Budget Ordinance. Click here to learn more about how to calculate a tax bill.
