Durham, N.C. - Durham County Manager Dr. Kimberly J. Sowell will present her recommended budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25 to the Durham Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on Monday, May 13, 2024. The presentation will take place during the BOCC's Regular Session scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Commissioners' Chambers, located on the second floor of the Durham County Administration I Building at 200 E. Main Street.

The County Manager's recommended annual budget is created to align with the key areas of focus communicated during the Board's recent budget retreat.

The public is welcome to attend all meetings of the BOCC, including the upcoming presentation of the recommended budget either in person or virtually. Seating is on a first come, first-serve basis, with priority given to County staff. A low-capacity overflow seating area will be provided in the lobby on the second floor of the Administration Building. Information on how to join virtual meetings via the Zoom platform is released by the Clerk to the Board's office.

Those interested in watching the presentation but cannot attend in person may watch live on the Durham Television Network as well as on the Durham County website here or on our YouTube channel. Please note that Durham Television Network is currently not available on Spectrum channel 8 due to Spectrum's equipment failure from the summer of 2023. Requests for an electronic copy of the budget proposal should be directed to publicinformationoffice@dconc.gov. Residents without access to an electronic device to view the proposed budget are invited to visit any Durham County Library location where Wi-Fi and computers are available. Hard copies of the FY 2024-25 Manager's Recommended Budget will be available from the Clerk to the Board's office located on the second floor of the Admin I Building.

Once the budget is adopted by the Board, details will be accessible on the County's Budget webpage.

There are up to four Budget Work Sessions planned in May and June. The dates, subject to change, are as follows:
