Durham Residents Invited to Provide Input On the Durham Transit Work Program

DURHAM, N.C. – Durham County invites residents to provide feedback on the Durham Annual Transit Work Program. Residents can participate in online and in‑person opportunities where they can learn about the Transit Work Program, ask questions, and share feedback that will help shape next year’s transit investments.
What Is the Transit Work Program?
The Transit Work Program is Durham County’s annual plan and budget for transit. It funds:
- Bus stop improvements and transit centers
- New and expanded bus routes
- More frequent and extended bus service
- Faster, more reliable bus service
- Major transit construction projects
- Planning and design work for future transit needs
- Staff to coordinate delivery of transit services and projects
- Bus purchases and maintenance facilities
- Paratransit Improvements
Each year, staff from the City of Durham/GoDurham, GoTriangle, Durham County, and the Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization work together as the Staff Working Group to develop the Work Program. The group uses the 2023 Transit Plan, Durham’s long‑term vision for transit, to guide funding decisions and turn visionary goals into real projects and services.
