Durham, N.C. - The Durham County Public Information Office continues to bring residents important information on our programs and services with the "In Touch with Durham County" show for June.
In this month's episode, host Durham County Chief Communications Officer Deborah Craig-Ray welcomes guests Derek Bowens, Elections Director for Durham County, and Durham County Attorney Al Andrews.

In segment one, Bowens returns to our show to talk all things Elections in 2023. He begins with important news regarding recent rulings from the North Carolina Supreme Court which will impact our next election period - including Voter ID and how Durham County voters can get one for free. We'll also talk about what is on the upcoming ballot for residents of Durham County - who can live in Durham, Raleigh, Cary and Morrisville as residents of DCo! Bowens and Craig-Ray will also look behind the scenes at the new Board of Elections facility that is in the works, achievements by staff in the past year, and look ahead to preparations for the 2024 Presidential election.
In segment two, Andrews joins the show for the first time since being appointed the County's Attorney back in January. We will get to know Andrews a little bit, from his background, education and previous experiences in local government. He'll chat about the vital role that the Attorney's Office plays in county government - including working in risk management and legal counsel to the Board of Commissioners and staff. Andrews also gives a glimpse into his work by talking about his experiences so far in Durham County and venturing into the community and sharing his knowledge with young Durhamites.
We hope you enjoy the show!
