2025 Municipal Primary Election Day Tips for Election Day Voting

Durham, NC – The Durham County Board of Elections is preparing for the 2025 Municipal Primary Election Day, scheduled for Tuesday, October 7, 2025. This election is being administered for the City of Durham City Council, and residents of the City are eligible to participate. Residents in unincorporated areas of Durham County are not eligible to participate.
On Election Day, 58 of the county’s 59 polling locations will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters in line by 7:30 p.m. will be permitted to vote. Precinct 26 is not an active polling place during municipal elections, as its registered voters do not live within the City of Durham.
Eligible voters who did not vote in-person during early voting or by-mail must vote at their designated Election Day precinct. To find your Election Day polling place, you can use the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE) Polling Place Lookup Tool.
