2023 Real and Personal Property Tax Deadline Approaching for Durham Taxpayers

Durham, N.C. - The Durham County Tax Administration reminds taxpayers that Friday, January 5, 2024, is the deadline to pay 2023 Real and Personal Property taxes. Last year, more than 96 percent of Durham County taxpayers paid their bill prior to the deadline. Timely payment of property taxes helps Durham County Government provide its budgeted community services on schedule and saves taxpayers additional fees that must be assessed on delinquent accounts.
"We appreciate your diligence and effort in making timely payments. Your cooperation is critical to our ability to provide the community services needed." said Keyar J. Doyle, Durham County Tax Administrator.
Tax payments may be made with cash, check, e-check (no fee), money order, and credit/debit card. Taxpayers should note that starter checks are not accepted and a processing fee, payable to the vendor, applies when using credit or debit cards.
Taxpayers can submit their tax payments:
by telephone at 1-866-892-0656 or 919-256-5101 using a credit or debit card;
by mail to Durham County Tax Collector, PO Box 580240, Charlotte, NC, 28258-0240;
·online with an e-check, debit or credit card; or
