What we do
The County Attorney is appointed by the Durham County Board of Commissioners and serves as the legal advisor to the Board, officials, county departments, and agencies.
The County Attorney's office provides legal guidance and representation on a broad range of matters including, contracts, ordinances, litigation, risk management, and personnel issues. This office is responsible for ensuring that county government operates in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
