What We Do
The Durham City-County Appearance Commission (DCCAC) is no longer meeting and no applications will be taken going forward.
The Durham City-County Appearance Commission (DCCAC) is tasked with enhancing and improving the visual quality and aesthetic character of Durham City and County. Its mission is:
- To cultivate excellence in design, preservation and stewardship of the natural and built environment.
- To communicate the economic, social, and aesthetic value of good design and planning.
- To celebrate exemplary design within the community.
The Durham City-County Appearance Commission is made up of 15 members: eight are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners; and seven appointed by the City Council.
