HomeCPS In-Home Services
CPS In-Home Services
CPS In-Home Services are legally mandated services and are provided to families who have been substantiated for abuse or neglect or a case decision of in need of services.
CPS In-Home partners with families to ensure:
- we focus on the safety of children
- we provide parents with support
- we work in collaboration with parents and community partners
- we strengthen the family unit
- we help families grow and change
We have a strong belief that children should be maintained in their own homes, whenever possible, while building on the families existing strengths.
Prevention Services
We work in collaboration with Durham Public Schools to provide intensive short-term support to elementary aged children and their families. Referrals for this program are received by Durham Public Schools and from CPS Intake.
- we work to strengthen the family unit
- we work to enhance the academic performance of children
- we work to prevent child abuse and/or neglect

DSS Community Programs
We work with The Triangle Non-profit and Volunteer Leadership Center to provide services to the Durham Community. The programs include:
The Back to School Supply Drive; children from low income families are referred by social workers. It is designed to help them have a successful start to a new school year. The local community provides donations and/or sponsorships for the school supplies and book bags.
Thanksgiving Dinners: community volunteers provide a special Thanksgiving meal to Durham citizens who are disadvantaged, elderly, or disabled.
Share Your Holiday: matches individuals and groups with Durham Citizens in need of help during the holiday season.
