HomeTemporary Art Installations
Temporary public art installations are a perfect vehicle for achieving the goals of the Public Art Program. Temporary art can engage us in exciting and unexpected ways. It can be a language that speaks to the many things we have in common - a language that reveals our diverse histories, culture and ethnicities. It can expose the conflicts in our community and become the focal point for thoughtful civil discourse. It can address issues in situations where words alone might deepen the divide and in this way, it can be the means of animating our democracy. Sometimes public art can simply serve as a whimsical or playful moment in an otherwise ordinary day.
Artists wishing to place temporary installations inside, on the exterior, or on the grounds of County facilities may submit proposals for consideration. Please allow at least thirty days, and preferably longer, for completion of the approval process and execution of the standard contract.
