Durham, N.C. – The Durham County Public Information Office continues to bring residents who are also social distancing important information on our programs and services with the “In Touch with Durham County” show for July 2021 shot completely online and safe! The show is available to watch on the DCo YouTube channel here; as well as on the Durham County Government website and the Durham Television Network.
In this month’s episode, host Deborah Craig-Ray, General Manager of Strategic Planning and Innovation, welcomes Dr. Mehul Mankad, Chief Medical Officer for Alliance Health, for a special one-guest episode.
Mankad joins the show for the first time as we devote the entire show to an important conversation about Mental Health, including how the pandemic and the interruption of our normal social interactions has impacted us over the past 16 months.
Now that the world is beginning to see signs of returning to pre-pandemic reality, albeit with a new outlook on many things, Mankad will share some insights about how to adjust to new normals and finding the resources and help that both young and old may need after such a significant change to routines and life in general.
Dr. Mankad also highlights the work of Lindsey Atkins, a clinical instructor at the UNC Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program in the UNC School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, who published a coloring book titled “Joey the Kangaroo and Her Coping with COVID Plan.”
The coloring book is available for download for free here.
