PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) will be held at The Community Family Life & Recreation Center at Lyon Park, 1313 Halley Street, through March 29, 2013. LIEAP provides a one-time annual vendor payment to help eligible families pay their heating expense.
Applications will be taken from 8:30- 4:30 Monday through Friday.
From December 3rd – January 31st applications will be taken for elderly persons age 60 and above or disabled persons receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS). Disabled persons are defined as receiving SSI, SSA, or Veterans Administration disability. All members of the household must be age 60 or above or at least one household member muse be disabled and receiving services through DAAS.
Applications for all other households will be taken from February 1 through March 31 or until funds are exhausted.
Required documents: Applicants must bring a valid social security number for each household member, verification of all house hold income, and a copy of their heating bill with the account number. Clients must have a heating source in order to be eligible.
