In FY 2012, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and NCCU Department of Criminal Justice formed an ad hoc Disproportionate Minority Contact (DMC) committee to address the large representation of minorities in the Durham County Juvenile Justice System, The focus of the initiative is to identify targeted opportunities for interventions that can lead to reducing overrepresentation.
