CHANGES IN FNS BENEFITS
As a result of changes in federal law*, FNS recipients will see a federally-mandated decrease in their FNS benefits effective November 1, 2013.
For example - The average household of four is projected to see a decrease of $36 per month. The average decrease is approximately 5.4%.
Recipients are not able to appeal this decrease in FNS benefits because it is the result of a change in federal law.
FNS clients can check their EBT-card balances as posted on their last grocery receipt or by calling the toll-free number on the back of their EBT card.
*The law that mandates this change is called the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which expires on October 31, 2013.
