Department Function

The Department of General Services has the responsibility of ensuring that all County facilities and properties are maintained and operated in a safe and proper manner.

This Department provides a variety of services including: building and grounds maintenance for County owned and operated buildings; recycling collection for County owned buildings and unincorporated residents; operation of four convenience sites; operation of the Durham County Memorial Stadium; fleet management for all County-owned vehicles; fabrication, installation, and maintenance of all county road identification signs; pest and mosquito control; internal mail/courier services, and contract administration for janitorial and security services.”
