MOTORCYCLE UNIT DEPUTY INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT
UPDATE: The Sheriff's Office can confirm a Durham County deputy and two Durham police officers injured in today's accident participated in a funeral escort shortly before the incident. Immediately after providing the funeral escort, the officers went to South Lowell Road in Bahama to practice their formations. The Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
Durham, N.C.— A Durham County Sheriff's Deputy was involved in a motorcycle accident on South Lowell Road around 3 p.m. today. Two Durham police officers were also injured in the accident. The deputy was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. No additional details from the Sheriff's Office are available at this time.
